Hey There!

I’m Jennifer and I’m pleased to welcome you to the Coral Room! I would like to share more about who and what made me the hairstylist I am today.

My original home was built by my grandfather on the Windward side of Oahu Hawaii, and overlooked the ocean. My mother and I relocated to Alaska when I was young, but I continued to spend my summers with my family in Hawaii at that same house. My grandmother, an extraordinary woman and avid painter, spent hours with me in her studio, teaching me the theory of color, shapes and light. At the time, I didn't realize what a lasting impact her lessons would have. Hair is art that moves. My grandmothers methods continue to guide my career, and influence my color formulations today.

Behind The Chair

Later, I received training from a challenging instructor named Emanuel Bolivar, who himself had trained under the renowned Vidal Sassoon. He only accepted a limited number of students, myself included. His experience made his standards high and his attention to detail was demanding. Following my graduation, students vied for recommendations to the top salon in the city at the time, a recommendation I was fortunate to receive. I then apprenticed under a distinguished stylist who had relocated from NYC and progressed from there. I have been in this industry for 21 years and I am passionate about what I do.

Having resided in various cities across the United States, Raleigh has become my home base and future. I cherish living here and have had the pleasure of meeting many exceptional people along the way. When not behind the chair, I enjoy cooking, reading, playing tennis, horseback riding, traveling, spending time with my family, friends and anything that has to do with the ocean. I have a beautiful daughter who is entering her first year of college and a beloved blind beagle.

I look forward to welcoming you all to The Coral Room!
